DOWN MEMORY LANE

I call out her name,

when I walk inside the door.

I never hear her voice,

she's not there it anymore.

I take another walk,

down memory lane.

She may be gone,

but those times remain.

All the joys and laughter

and sometimes tears.

We had the best times,

for all those years.

Every moment we shared,

it's memories we made.

I still recall those times,

they will never fade.

I have all the photos,

it's still in a frame.

I look at each one,

but it's not the same.

They are my keepsake,

I think about her every day.

It's hard to move on,

when I still miss her today.

MY DEAR FRIEND

I heard her voice yesterday on a recording again.

The sweet voice that came from my dear friend.

I stare at her photo and wonder why did it end?

I could only imagine what might have been.

My tears are words my heart can't express.

She was tormented and suffered in duress.

A sweet caring person with a big heart.

She had a pain that tore her apart.

I'm filled with anguish that I can't rid of.

My life is shattered I lost the one I loved.

My dear friend is gone after all those years.

I'm left with a photo and a pool of tears.

SERVE THE LORD

What am I going to do,
where do I go?
When will you answer me,
 I want to know.
I want to do your will,
 and do it your way.
I'm waiting patiently,
 and hope it's today.
I don't want to be a spectator,
 not even a doormat.
I'm looking for a purpose,
 and not only that.
I want to serve you,
 and help others too.
Obey your commands,
and live my life for you.
I deny myself,
 and take up the cross.
Whatever I gained,
I now consider loss.
I'll give you my best,
in everything I do.
I promise to be faithful,
 and always honor you.

BALLAD OF CJ JOYNER

She's a sweet, charming lady,

with a big heart inside.

She's always looking pretty,

and she's a friend of mine.

You can see it in her smile,

and the words she would say.

You will know it by her kindness,

that she shows every day.

You can feel it in your heart,

in the joy she would bring.

She welcomes me in her home,

my heart wants to sing.

You can see she really cares,

in everything she would do.

She always took the time,

to help me get through.

You can see she is friendly,

ready to help me again.

The message is quite clear,

that she is my friend.

WOULD YOU CALL

If I promised you, I wouldn't scare you

with my looks, would you call?

If I said, I was bald and skinny

and not really tall.

If I told you, I was poor but

was friendly and kind, would you call?

If I promised you I will help you

anytime at all.

If I said, I was shy and didn't

drink or smoke, would you call?

If I told you I would take you

to a shopping mall.

If I said I was a Christian and I wouldn't

go to a bar, would you call?

If I promised you, I would treat you nice

and not swear at all.

If you said yes to any of the above,

all you have to do is call.

BROKEN DREAMS

I've reached rock bottom and not only that.
I have no friends, I'm just a doormat.
I see the evil get the upper hand.
I saw the suffering, I didn't understand.
I dream we help out and love everyone.
My dream is shattered, what can be done?
I reach out to seek another friend.
When no one comes, life seems to end.
I'm hanging on to the end of my rope.
I cry out to Jesus who is my hope.
I call out to my savior in this plea.
I need you, Jesus. Please help me.

Ode To CJ

There was a single knock,

 on my door.

It was a sweet lady,

I've been praying for.

We both needed someone,

only God can do.

God answered our prayers,

he blessed us too.

You seldom find,

a friend like mine.

She was always helpful,

friendly and kind.

A warm embrace

and food she shared.

It's moments like this,

she showed she cared.

A forgiving heart,

a thoughtful deed.

It truly describes,

my friend indeed.

The words we said,

we meant it too.

Like bless your heart,

 and I love you.

Great memories were made.

Even when we prayed.

In a moment like this.

I surely do miss.

My dear best friend.

I'll see her again.

NOW AND THEN

We take the time,

to reflect on the past.

We cherish the moments,

 and wish it would last.

Those times we shared,

in our work and play.

The memories we have,

throughout each day.

From dawn to sunset,

it was so much fun.

The joy of success,

in the work we've done.

We look forward,

to the new challenges we take.

And all the big plans,

we want to make.

We reach for our dreams,

 and seek a new friend.

And take on obstacles,

whatever life may send.

With a new set of goals,

it's time to proceed.

We give our best,

 and know we'll succeed.

MY GRIEVING HEART

My heart is still grieving,

for my friend who died.

I can't stop mourning,

even though I tried.

It's so hard to endure,

with each passing day.

In a time of sorrow,

that won't go away.

It feels like I died

but the pain is still alive.

I'll do anything I can,

just so I can survive.

Will my grieving heart heal,

it's hard to tell.

One thing I do know,

it hurts like hell.

Memories Of CJ

Those days are gone,

those years still shine.

Those memories remain,

for a friend of mine.

From the first day,

when we just met.

To the last day,

I'll never forget.

All those years,

we spent together.

We were happy,

the best times ever.

l stop and think,

 about my friend.

I ask myself,

why did it end?

Those times of fun,

those times of laughs.

Those times of love,

those days have passed.

Those days are gone,

those years still shine.

Those memories remain,

for a friend of mine.

ALONE

Feeling all alone and no one I can see.
Real friend I need, someone close to me.
I can think of many times I could use a friend.
Even those times when life seems to end.
Nothing I can do to change anything.
Despite all my pleas, I am lonely as can be.

THE SILENT CRY

I cry for love I never had,

even when I was a little boy.

I dream many times about love,

that would make life a joy.

There's many days I see that love,

and I ask myself why not me?

I spend those days all alone,

and no one to see.

Is there any life for me to live,

if there is no friend.

I say many times there isn't,

and I wish someone would come again.

ABC's on Salvation

All of us have sinned and gone astray.

But there is hope for us here today.

Call on our Savior Jesus when you pray

Do this now and he will lead the way.

Ever since the moment Jesus came.

Faith reminds us to believe his name.

God sent his Son to save you and me.

He died and rose again to set us free.

If there is one message we need to hear.

Jesus gave a promise to always be near

Keep this in mind whatever you do.

Leave it in his hands and he will help you.

More you know him, the message is clear.

No love is greater than what he did here.

On that wooden cross he showed his love.

Part of a plan that was from God above.

Query minds there can be no doubt.

Repent of your sins, there is no way out.

Salvation is found, so be sorry for your sin.

This moment now, your new life can begin.

Until he returns, let us not forget.

Victory is for those who are already set.

With Jesus help in the life he gave.

X is marked to those who are saved.

You know this message that you have heard.

Zealous hearts are needed to spread the word.
