The First Christmas

The word became flesh, on that very night.
When the shepherds, saw the beautiful sight.
It's our Savior Jesus, who was born.
He came from heaven, in the early morn.
It was that night, when salvation has begun.
When God has sent, his beloved Son.
He came down, to save us from our sin.
We could surely see God's love within.
He died on the cross for our sake.
So that our bondage of sin would break.
So every Christmas, we recall that day.
When we proclaim that it's Jesus Birthday.

K I D S

They smile and cheer,
they have so much fun.
They run and catch,
they play with everyone.
They wiggle and twist,
they're funny in all they do.
They skip and jump,
they ride their bikes too.
They see and touch,
they always look around.
They yell and scream,
 they make so many sounds.
They giggle and laugh,
with old friends and new.
They fight and fall,
they get dirty too.
They have so much fun,
they are a joy to see.
They are the ones,
that bring out the kid in me.

Visit The Zoo

The alarm goes off and up comes the sun.
It's time to get ready to have some fun.
You get out of bed and what do you do?
You go on a trip to visit the zoo.
You go through the gate and what do you see?
The tiger is on the prowl and a lemur is on a tree.
You look at the elephants and the meerkats too.
You see the black bear and the flamingos in view.
Koalas are pretty cute and the baboon is on the go.
Sea lions are swimming and the turtles are slow.
You spy on the gator and the gorilla on the grass.
You stare at the snake and the fish behind the glass.
Zebra makes you dizzy and the rhino's sitting down.
Monkey is with a baby and lion is wearing a frown.
You spot a wild leopard and the lizard on the ground.
You find a gray goat and the cougar running around.
The cheetah goes fast and the jackals can run.
The puma's on the move and otter's having fun.
You follow the weasel and the big horn sheep.
You come across a fox and the panda's asleep.
Watch the penguins walk and all the birds fly.
Notice the kangaroos and the bats hanging high.
Hippo's in the water and the giraffe is really tall.
Ostrich is eating and there's a pony in the stall.
You have seen all the animals in your visit at the zoo.
We hope you had fun and learned something new.
It's time to go home, we'd love to see you again.
We hope you come back and bring along a friend.

Is He Clever ?

Ben owns a grocery store.
He put up a sign on the window.
Tomatoes, 25 cents a piece or
three for a dollar.
The first customer walked in and complained.
"That's not fair," the young lady said.
"I should get four tomatoes for a dollar."
Ben apologized and provided the customer,
four tomatoes for a dollar.
The second customer walked in and
made a big fuss about the sign.
"That sign can't be right," he said.
"It should be four tomatoes instead of three."
Ben agreed with the old man and
sold him four tomatoes for a dollar.
Ben's friend, Charlie stood near by
and watched the whole episode.
Charlie pulled Ben aside.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Charlie asked.
"You should correct the mistake on the sign."
"What mistake?" Ben bellowed.
"Before the sign was up." Ben said.
"Customers only bought one tomato."

Is It Possible ?

Billy was on his way to class when
he accidentally dropped his ten dollar bill.
Mr. Polk, the teacher picked up the ten dollars and
placed it on the desk at the lost and found room.
Joey walked in and spotted the ten dollars.
He grabbed the money and handed the ten dollars
to Randy in exchange for his comic book.
Randy trekked over to Marty's house and
handed his ten dollars to his friend Marty,
for his latest issue of  Comics digest.
Marty made his way to Jill's house and handed
her the ten dollars to pay off his debt.
Jill headed over to the neighbor's house
and handed the gentleman ten dollars
in exchange for a bucket of apples.
The neighbor took a trip to Joey's house and
handed the young boy ten dollars for
picking up apples in his orchard.
Joey raced back to the school's lost and found
room and placed the ten dollars back on the desk.
Billy headed over to the lost and found room
where he discovered his missing ten dollar bill.

IS IT POSSIBLE?
Every transaction was legit?

Make Me Laugh

Pete walked down the school hallway during recess.
He noticed his friend, Jeff with a big frown on his face.
"What's the matter?" Pete asked.
The young boy responded quickly,
"I'm waiting for someone to make me laugh."
Pete's eyes lit up.
He pulled out his little joke book and proceeded
to tell his friend the funniest joke he ever heard.
But Jeff's facial expression never changed.
Buddy came along and told his friend an amusing story.
But once again Jeff had the same frown on his face.
Cathy walked toward Jeff and started to giggle.
"What's so funny?" Jeff asked.
Cathy ignored him and continued to chuckle.
Pete and Buddy began to laugh too.
Jeff asked them again what is so funny?
The rest of the class joined in and laughed.
Jeff was persistent, he asked again what is so funny?
Cathy and the rest of the class paid no attention to him.
They laughed, and laughed and laughed.
Jeff's mood changed immediately.
He joined in with his own comical laugh.
The laughter continued until the school bell rang.
Jeff pulled Cathy aside.
"You never told me what was so funny?"
Cathy grinned back at him and answered,
"I made you laugh, didn't I?"

Kevin's the best!

Kevin pops in the living room
and tries to get his sister's attention.
"Look at me!" said Kevin. "I am a real pirate."
"I am the best pirate in the world," proclaimed Kevin.
"You are no pirate," said his sister Betty.
"You have no sword and you have no ship."
Kevin lowers his head and walks away.
Kevin runs back in the living room and shouts,
"Look here, I am the best pilot."
"You can't be a pilot," said Betty.
"You have never flown and you are afraid of heights."
Once again, Kevin turns and walks away.
Kevin sprints back in the living room.
"I am the best doctor in the world."
"No way," said Betty. You faint at the sight of blood."
Once more, Kevin walks away disappointed.
Kevin comes back in the living room.
'Look at me now, I am a superhero."
Betty shakes her head and laughs.
"Nice costume but it's not Halloween yet."
"Okay, okay, you are right," Kevin said.
"I am not a pirate, nor a pilot, not a doctor or superhero."
"But," said Kevin. "I'm the best in one thing."
"What is that?" asked Betty.
"I have great imagination,"answered Kevin.
Betty looks at Kevin.
"You are right," Betty agreed.
"You have great imagination."

Henry's Father

(Henry wrote this poem 32 years ago)

HENRY'S FATHER

I hear all the stories about loving fathers,
I like to tell you about mine.
He is a loving, patient, understanding dad,
and he is also kind.
When I was six years old, my mother became ill,
I still don't know the reason why.
But here was my dad taking care of me,
my sis and my two brothers at the same time.
He worked, he cooked, he cleaned,
he did all the things he could.
He made all of our lives
so happy, loving and good.
I am very grateful for all he had done for me.
I take this moment to say to my dad,
thanks for everything.
I wish him all the peace and love
that will come in time,
And thank my God for blessing me
with a wonderful father like mine.
TILL WE MEET AGAIN,DAD
I LOVE YOU

Frank Porada

My heart aches every time I see,
The empty chair near the TV.
My dear dad suddenly passed away.
Part of me died and I'm left astray.
I miss my dad, he was my friend,
We had great times till the end.
I know God will call me home too,
Till we meet again, Dad, I love you.

MY DAD

My 94 year old dad passed away July 22, 2014.
I was his caregiver for over 9 years.
I miss his smile, his singing and
most important his love.
WE were best friends.
This is not a goodbye but
TILL WE MEET AGAIN.

Danny Loves To Read

Danny burst to the kitchen. "I got to go, mom."
"Where are you going, son?"
"I'm off to the library," Danny replied.
"They have the summer reading program."
Danny's eyes lit up as soon he walked in.
He is greeted by the librarian in the children section.
"I'm looking for a great book," Danny declared.
Ms. Dean directed Danny over to the picture book area.
Danny searched shelf after shelf for a special book.
Buddy came along carrying a handful of books.
"Check out the fairy tale section," said Buddy.
"You'll find some classics."
"Great books indeed," Danny said.
"But I am looking for a book to inspire me."
Danny walked over to the next aisle.
Cathy strolled by carrying a bag full of books.
"You should get a Dr. Seuss book."
"They are great books indeed," Danny said.
"But I am looking for something that is inspirational."
Danny scanned the non-fiction area.
Wally stood nearby with his stack of books.
"You should get a book on sharks," Wally suggested.
"Great idea," Danny agreed.
"But I need a book to enlighten me."
Danny continued to search every aisle.
Pete walked past carrying a cart full of books.
"Try the poetry section," Pete suggested.
"A great selection to choose from."
"All the poem books are great," Danny admitted.
"But I need a book that will motivate me."
Danny decided to check out the new release section.
"There it is!" Danny announced.
"The book I want to read."
It's Henry's new book, "BUDDY'S FUN DAY"

A Bald Man wanted to fly

There was a bald man who wanted to fly.
I don't know why he wanted to fly.
He wouldn't tell me why.
There was a bald man who bought a kite.
He tossed the kite in the air hoping it would take flight.
He bought the kite so he can fly.
I don't know why he wanted to fly.
He wouldn't tell me why.
There was a bald man who bought a hot air balloon.
He climbed inside so he could reach the moon.
He bought the balloon to replace the kite.
He bought the kite so he can fly.
I don't know why he wanted to fly.
He wouldn't tell me why.
There was a bald man who bought a airplane kit.
He assembled the kit and hope he could fit.
He bought the kit to replace the balloon.
He bought the balloon to replace the kite.
He bought the kite so he can fly.
I don't know why he wanted to fly.
He wouldn't tell me why.
There was a bald man who built a space ship.
He tried to fly it at a air strip.
He built the space ship to replace the airplane.
He bought the airplane to replace the balloon.
He bought the balloon to replace the kite.
He bought the kite so he can fly.
I don't know why he wanted to fly.
He wouldn't tell me why.
There was a bald man who promised his bride.
He would give her the moon.
He was better off to play her a tune.
So they can go on their honeymoon.

I won't forget to query it.
It's time to send it.
They're going to publish it.
Now I'm ready to sell it.
All my friends will buy it.
They'll love to read it.
Now I believe it.
I AM AN AUTHOR!

Fizz Boom Read

Wally is so excited to tell everyone.
He's going to the library to have some fun.
He discovered a place where you can always find.
A variety of books that will captivate your mind.
Wally was on hand for the new summer read.
He's looking for books that he's going to need.
With so much to choose, he couldn't pick one.
He pulled out twenty and he wasn't done.
Wally found a great book on a spine tingling tale.
And a non-fiction book about a mammoth whale.
He read a tearful story on a long lost dog.
And a fact filled book about a slimy little frog.
FIZZ BOOM READ is the summer's reading plan.
So visit the library and signup when you can.
Bring along a friend and take a good look.
There's a great selection, so check out a book.
