OH YES! OH NO!

It was the day before Father's Day.
Toby was excited, he was going to the
bookstore to buy his dad a book.
When he arrived, he saw the book on display.
"Oh Yes!" Toby shouted.
"I'm glad they didn't sell out before I came."
He rushed to the counter to pay for the book.
He pulled out his wallet 
and found his twenty dollar bill was missing.
"Oh NO!" Toby cried.
"What am I going to do now?" 
Toby left the store empty handed 
and pondered his next move.
Then Toby's eyes lit up.
"OH YES!" Toby shouted.
"I will borrow the money from my best friend."
Toby went up to his friend and shook his hand.
"I am so glad to see you." Toby proclaimed.
Buddy looked at his friend suspiciously.
"What do you need now?" Buddy asked.
Toby pleaded with his friend.
"Can I borrow twenty dollars?" Toby asked.
Buddy began to laugh.
"You still owe me money from last week."
"OH NO!" Toby wailed.
"What am I going to do now?"
Toby strolled  through  the neighborhood 
with his head hanging down
Suddenly, Toby spotted some money near a bush.
"Oh Yes!" Toby shouted.
"Now I can buy the book."
Toby scooped up the money
 and noticed it was wet.
"OH No!" Toby cried.
"What am I going to do now?"
Toby headed home and pondered his next move.
"Oh Yes!" Toby shouted.
"I will clean and dry the money."
Toby rushed back to the store 
and hoped they still had a copy.
He went up to the door
 and noticed a sign on the window.
CLOSED.
"OH NO!" Toby wailed.
The next morning, Toby walked inside his Father's house.
"I am really sorry, I didn't get you a gift." Toby said.
His Father grabbed his son and gave him a big hug.
"Do you know what I like about this day?"
"his Father asked him."
Before Toby could answer, his dad whispered in his ear.
"Spending time with my own son," his Father added.
Tears went down Toby's face. 
"OH YES!" Toby cried.
"HAPPY FATHER's DAY!"

It was the day before Father's day.

Jimmy thought his dad would love to receive a gift.

So he went to the bookstore to purchase a book.

"Oh, Yes!" Jimmy declared, "I found a great book."

He pulled out his wallet and cried, "Oh No!"

Jimmy lost his twenty dollar bill.

"What am I going to do?" Jimmy wondered.

Then, Jimmy had a bright idea.

"I will borrow the money from my best friend."

"Oh, YES!" Jimmy yelled. 

Jimmy went up to his friend and shook his hand.

"You are my best friend." Jimmy declared.

Bobby looked at his friend Jimmy, suspiciously.

"What do you want now, Jimmy?"

Jimmy pleaded with his friend.

"I need twenty dollars," Jimmy added.

Bobby began to laugh. 

"You still owe me twenty dollars from last week."

"Oh, No!" Jimmy wailed.

"What am I going to do now?"

Jimmy continued to stroll down the neighborhood.

He spotted a twenty dollar bill near a bush.

"Oh, Yes!" Jimmy shouted.

Jimmy picked up the bill and it was dripping wet.

"Oh, No!" Jimmy cried.

Jimmy ran home and used a hair dryer.

He waited patiently for the money to dry.

He looked up at the clock and noticed it was past six PM.

"Oh, No!" Jimmy wailed. "The store is closed."

The next morning, Jimmy walked inside his dad's house.

'I am really sorry, I didn't get you a gift."

His father didn't say a word. He gave his son a hug.

They took a stroll at the park and sat  on the park bench.

They went back inside to eat and watch TV.

"Do you know what I like best about Father's Day?" 

his father asked.

"It's not a card or a gift I am looking for," 

his father added.

"But spending the time with my own son."

Tears went down Jimmy's face.

"OH, Yes!" Jimmy cried.

"HAPPY FATHER'S DAY."

Father's Day is near,

and I want to get a gift for my dad.

The Good News, I have some money.

The Bad News, I misplaced it.

The Good News, I can borrow money from my friend.

The Bad News, I owe him some money.

The Good News, I found a five dollar bill.

The Bad News, it was squashed and soiled.

The Good News, I cleaned it.

The Bad News, it's all wet.

The Good News, it's finally dry.

The Bad News, it's getting late.

The Good News, I know what to buy.

The Bad News, the store is closed.

The Good News, I spent the whole day

with my Dad and he loved it.
