This is the mother, all tired and worn, that fed the boy, who caught the cat, that scared the bird, that chased the bee, that sat on the flower, that lived in the garden, that Zack grew.

This is the father, all dirty and torn, that helped the mother, all tired and worn, that fed the boy, who caught the cat, that scared the bird, that chased the bee, that sat on the flower, that lived in the garden, that Zack grew.

This is the musician, who plays the horn, that roused the dog, that barked in the morn, that woke the neighbor, who bought the corn, from the father, all dirty and torn, that helped the mother, all tired and worn, that fed the boy, who caught the cat, that scared the bird, that chased the bee, that sat on the flower, that lived in the garden, that Zack grew.

This is Zack who grew the garden.

RU4 Books?

Sometimes I dream I am a doctor, and sometimes I am a fireman.
Sometimes I pretend I am a police officer and other times I am a pilot.
At times I am a astronaut and other times I am a teacher.
I imagine at times I am a pirate and other times I am a soldier.
There are times I envision I am a postal clerk and other times I am a artist.
There are times I am a scientist and other times I imagine I am a archaeologist.
Sometimes I fantasize I am a builder and other times I am a engineer.
I can picture myself as a zookeeper and at times I am a painter.
Every time I pull out a book and start to read,
I become the main character inside the book.
I LOVE READING BOOKS!
RU4 BOOKS?

MAKE YOU SMILE

Smile at your mailman, smile at the cook,
Smile at the neighbor, don't just look.
Smile at your teachers at your school,
Show everyone that smiling is cool.

Smile at the gardener, say a little Hi,
Smile at the dentist, don't be shy.
Wear a smile like the morning sun,
Show the world how it's done.

Smile at your mother you hold so dear,
Smile at the one who needs a cheer.
Smile at the fireman and policeman too,
Smile at the people who are feeling blue.

Smile at the barber, smile at your kin,
Smile at the painter, don't hold it in.
Bring out your smile for everyone to see,
Smile to those who are close to thee.

Smile at the grouch, smile at your foe,
Smile at the doctor whenever you go.
Smile at the folks young and old,
Pull out your smile and let it show.

Go to the park, you can go any place,
To put a smile on every one's face.
You take a stroll and say hello,
And share your smile wherever you go.

Andy the Pretender

Andy walked into his living room and stood in front of his mother and his brother. "Look at me," Andy announced, "I am a doctor." Andy wore a surgical mask and one pair of white gloves. "I am going to be a great doctor." Andy added. "Yes," Mom agreed, "you will save lives and heal sick people." "You can't be a doctor," his brother David interrupted. "You faint at the sight of blood." Andy hung his head down and walked away in shame.

The young boy came back to the room holding on to a basketball. "Look, at me now," Andy proclaimed. "I am a basketball player." "Yes, you are," his mom said, "I can't wait to see you play." David shook his head. "You can't be a basketball player," David retorted, "you are too short." Andy turned around and walked away. Andy sprinted back to the living room and shouted, "I am a airplane pilot." Andy skipped around the room pretending he was flying an airplane. "You are a pilot," mom replied, "you will be the best.""You can't be a pilot," said David, "you are afraid of heights." Andy gave his brother a dirty look and he walked away. Andy ran back to the room and proudly announced he was a librarian. He walked around pretending he was scanning a book he had in his hand. "You are a librarian," his mom said. But David interrupted again, "You can't be a librarian," David exclaimed, "you hate to read any books." Andy stood motionless for a moment. He put his hands on his hip and made a startling comment. "I am no doctor, I am no basketball player, I am no airplane pilot, nor a librarian." "But," Andy added, "I have great imagination. And that means one thing." "What is that," David asked. "I will be a great writer," Andy proclaimed."
 David and Mom both agreed.

Maggie Plays Volleyball

Down at the park on a sunny afternoon,
Maggie came along whistling a happy tune.
She looked all around for something to do,
She spotted a volleyball that looked brand new.
She stared at the ball and started to dream,
She saw this vision. She was playing on a team.
The coach called her name and she dashed on the court,
Maggie was playing her favorite sport.
She picked up the ball and held it in her hand,
She swung her arm and served it underhand.
The ball flew over and the serve landed in,
Maggie felt so good that she served again.
It was only a dream but she wanted to play,
So she raced to the gym to sign up today.
Maggie went inside and she stood on the court,
She saw all the players who'd come for the sport.
The coach came out with a whistle in hand,
He picked up a ball to serve underhand.
He stood behind the line and showed how it was done,
Then Maggie yelled out "I'll serve the first one"
She hit the ball high and it soared in flight,
It flew over the net. Then it veered to the right.
Maggie walked away and heard the coach shout,
"Swing your arm straight. Then the ball won't go out."
She stepped behind the line to serve once again,
She hit the ball hard and the ball sailed in.
Maggie flashed a smile when she heard the coach say,
"It was a very good serve, the best one today."
The coach yelled out, "Let's try something new."
"How to dig a ball and pass it high too."
He stood on the court to show how it was done,
The coach made it look easy. It sure looked fun.
Maggie took her turn and stood at the line,
She waited for the serve. Then she shouted, "It's mine."
She ran to the spot where the ball was coming down.
She bumped the ball high before it hit the ground.
A big crowd gathered for Maggie's first game.
They clapped and cheered when the coach called her name.
She stood by the line with her heart pounding fast,
It's the game winning point, her chance at last.
She hit the ball high and it flew through the air,
The players all gasped when the ball hit a chair.
The crowd stood silent and Maggie looked stun,
The other team served and took game one.
She walked off the court with a sad droopy face,
Her head hanging down. She felt out of place.
The players gathered around and heard the coach say,
"Just give me your best and you'll be okay."
It was game number two. The coach sent her in.
Maggie was happy and flashed a big grin.
She hit the ball straight with no trouble at all,
he other team stared as they watched the ball fall.
The crowd gave a cheer when the ball hit the floor,
It was Maggie's first ace. She tried for more.
She served every point, and they won by four.
The crowd stood up and gave a big roar.
The coach took time before the next game,
To announce the starters and Maggie heard her name.
He tossed the ball to Maggie to serve game three,
The players clapped their hands and chanted "Maggie."
She stepped up to serve with a gleam in her eye,
She took a big swing and watched the ball fly.
It sailed past the net, it sure looked fine,
The crowd cheered again when the ball hit the line.
Her team won the game, and Maggie was proud,
She flashed a big smile and waved at the crowd.
She ran to the stands and greeted each one,
Then she shouted with glee, "Volleyball's fun."

What will you be?

The school bell rang, the students headed for the door.
Except for Toby, he sat down glued to his chair.
He stared at the chalkboard and gazed at the words
the teacher wrote down. "What will you be when you grow up?"
Toby's mind was filled with many choices.
Ms. Harper leaned over and  urged him to pick the one he enjoyed the most.
But Toby loved more than one vocation.
He walked home wondering what to do.
The young boy dashed to his kitchen and called to his mother.
Toby's mother suggested he visit the library.
The young boy decided to check out four books at the library.
He scanned every page and found he had more choices.
On the way out the young lad met his friend Laurie.
Laurie explained she wanted to be a librarian.
Toby imagined himself in that role.
He pictured himself reading to the children.
Toby agreed it was a great choice.
Fred walked by and announced he wanted to be a fireman.
Toby recalled when the whole class visited the fire station.
He was so excited when  he tried out the fireman's hat.
"That's a good idea," Toby replied. "Maybe I'll choose to be a fireman."
Barry came along and explained he wanted to be an astronomer.
Toby recalled the nights he watched the stars in the dark.
He pulled out his telescope and gaze at the starry night
"That's another great idea," Toby admitted.
Toby walked home with his head hanging down.
He sat down next to his mother and explained his frustration.
"I keep changing my mind," Toby said, "it's hard for me to choose one."
Toby's mother suggested he select one that his heart desires.
Then Toby had an idea. He prepared his speech before the night was over.
The next morning, Toby arrived at school with a big smile on his face.
"OK, class," Ms. Harper announced, "let's get started." Dolly went first.
She proudly told the class she wanted to be a doctor.
David explained he wanted to be an engineer.
Finally, it was Toby's turn. He pulled out a book and displayed it to the class.
"If I can't decide on one vocation," Toby began,
I can always write a story."
So Toby stood in front of the class
and  proudly announced, "I want to be a writer."

A Ticket To Happiness

I am going to be happy today.
Even though the skies are gray.
No matter what trouble come my way,
I am going to be happy today.
We can post the above words on our fridge
and believe in it. But it means nothing unless
we do our part. It all starts inside of me.
I can create in my mind a feeling based
on the thoughts I hold inside.
What thoughts do you keep in your mind?
Are your thoughts positive or are they negative thoughts?
Do you carry hate inside or do you carry thoughts on love?
Our thoughts can have a tremendous power over our mind and body.
It carries on to our actions, and the words we speak.
It also effects how we feel.
So ticket to happiness starts with a positive outlook in life.
So keep your heart free from hate.
Keep your mind free from worry.
And fill your heart and mind with love and laughter.
That's your ticket to Happiness.

Life can be so much fun,
If you know how it's done.
And you can do this part,
If you open up your heart.
So if you really know how,
You could do this now.
Put a smile on your face,
Every time you go some place.
Share it to everyone you know,
Then your gloomy day will go.
So when your smile comes out,
There can be no doubt.
When you do this one thing,
It will make your heart sing.
Put your fears to rest,
Make you feel the best.

The Night B4 Christmas

It's Christmas eve, Tommy, Joe and Mindy are decorating the living room. Mom and Dad left the house to pick up the presents at Grandma's. The three kids planned to purchase a present for their parents while they were gone. They stopped at a store for the perfect gift. "So what are we getting mom and dad?" Tommy asked. "How about this," Joe pointed to the window display. Mindy shook her head, "we're running out of time, we better find something soon." Joe found a cat on display made out of porcelain.
They all chipped in and paid for the gift. The three kids ran home to wrap the present. Tommy and Mindy fought on who should wrap the gift. They tugged back and forth holding on to the cat. "Let me do this," Mindy cried. Tommy shouted back, "No, I want to do this." Immediately, both Tommy and Mindy fell to the floor. All three kids watched the porcelain cat shatter in pieces. "Now, look at what you did," Tommy shouted at Mindy. Mindy started to cry, "it's not my fault." She ran upstairs and slammed the door. Joe and Tommy quickly cleaned up the mess. "What are we going to do?" Tommy asked. Joe stared at the clock and sighed, "It's too late," Joe said, "mom and dad will be home soon." Mindy called Uncle Ted on the phone. She told him the dilemma all three kids were in. "Don't worry about anything," Uncle Ted said, "I will take care of it." Mom and Dad came through the door carrying presents. Joe and Tommy helped their parents place all the gifts under the tree. "Where is Mindy?" Mom asked. Joe and Tommy looked at each other. "She's taking a nap." The door bell rang  and Uncle Ted arrived. He asked the kids to help him unload the presents from his car. Mindy came down the stairs and helped move the presents under the tree. "I can't stay," Uncle Ted said, "but I will be back at midnight." The three kids went upstairs to put together a handmade Christmas card. "I'm sorry I yelled at you," Tommy said to Mindy.  "I'm sorry too," Mindy replied. They worked together to make the special card for their parents. The clock struck midnight, the kids ran down the stairs and sat on the floor near the tree. The parents stood back and watched all three kids eyes light up the moment they opened each gift. "Thanks Mom and Dad," all three kids shouted together. They took turns and hugged their parents. "Let's sit down and read about the first Christmas," Dad announced. Mindy raised her hand and volunteered to read from the bible. Before they settled down to rest, Dad noticed there was one more present behind the tree. He picked up the gift and saw it was marked for Mom and Dad from the kids. All three kids stood in shock. They whispered to each other, "how could it be?"  Mom opened the present and found a porcelain cat inside. "Thank you, kids," Mom replied, "this is a special gift." The kids wondered where it came from.  "You must have spent all your savings on it," Dad said. "Ah, Yeah," Joe replied, "we're broke, tell them Mindy." Mindy stared at Joe, "we have no money left." Tommy announced it was a shattering experience. Uncle Ted finally came back to join the family in a sing along. They walked toward the couch when Mindy stopped Uncle Ted along the way. "Thanks, Uncle Ted," Mindy said, "please don't tell anyone." "It will be our secret," Uncle Ted said. Mindy gave him a big hug.
