She picked one out, now there's only five.

Eggy loves to read.

Eggy burst into the kitchen,
he darted past his mother.
"Where are you going, son?"
"I'm off to the library," Eggy replied.
"Today starts the summer reading program."
Eggy is greeted at the door by the librarian.
"I'm looking for a special book,"
Eggy declared. The librarian
directed him to the picture book area.
Eggy searched through shelf after shelf
for a great book. Buddy came along
carrying a handful of books.
"Check out the fairy tale section." said Buddy.
"They are all classics."
"Great books indeed," Eggy said.
"But I'm looking for a new book to inspire me."
Eggy walked over to the next aisle and
scanned the whole section.
Cathy strolled by carrying
a bag full of books.
"You should get a book about a cat that sings,"
Cathy suggested. "It's going to be a classic."
"Great book," Eggy agreed.
"But I'm looking for something that is inspirational."
Eggy went over to the non-fiction area.
Wally stood nearby and greeted his friend.
"Get a book about sharks," Wally suggested.
"The photos are awesome."
"They are great," Eggy answered.
"But I need a book to enlighten me."
Eggy continued to search down every aisle.
Pete walked past carrying a stack of books.
"Try the poetry section," Pete suggested.
" There is a great collection of poems to choose."
"Poetry is great," Eggy agreed.
"But I'm looking for a book to motivate me."
Eggy decided to check out the new released section.
He browsed through the whole area and his eyes lit up.
He caught a glimpse on a brand new book written by Henry.
"There it is!" Eggy cried. "The book I want to read."
It's Henry's first published book, 'THE INNER LIGHT.'

Henry's first book is published,
I can't wait to see.
It must be a masterpiece,
I wonder what it could be.
Is it a new fairy tale,
or a dog that can sing.
Maybe a story with a twist,
or laughter it can bring.
The anticipation is high,
I can hardly wait.
One thing I'm certain,
his book will be great.

Andy the Pretender

Andy walked into his living room and stood in front of his mother and his brother. "Look at me," Andy announced, "I am a doctor." Andy wore a surgical mask and one pair of white gloves. "I am going to be a great doctor." Andy added. "Yes," Mom agreed, "you will save lives and heal sick people." "You can't be a doctor," his brother David interrupted. "You faint at the sight of blood." Andy hung his head down and walked away in shame.

The young boy came back to the room holding on to a basketball. "Look, at me now," Andy proclaimed. "I am a basketball player." "Yes, you are," his mom said, "I can't wait to see you play." David shook his head. "You can't be a basketball player," David retorted, "you are too short." Andy turned around and walked away. Andy sprinted back to the living room and shouted, "I am a airplane pilot." Andy skipped around the room pretending he was flying an airplane. "You are a pilot," mom replied, "you will be the best.""You can't be a pilot," said David, "you are afraid of heights." Andy gave his brother a dirty look and he walked away. Andy ran back to the room and proudly announced he was a librarian. He walked around pretending he was scanning a book he had in his hand. "You are a librarian," his mom said. But David interrupted again, "You can't be a librarian," David exclaimed, "you hate to read any books." Andy stood motionless for a moment. He put his hands on his hip and made a startling comment. "I am no doctor, I am no basketball player, I am no airplane pilot, nor a librarian." "But," Andy added, "I have great imagination. And that means one thing." "What is that," David asked. "I will be a great writer," Andy proclaimed."
 David and Mom both agreed.

READING IS FUN!

 READING IS FUN

Check out the cover,
look inside the book,
Turn the page over,
take a closer look.
Read the first line,
imagine what you find,
You uncover a story,
 that will dazzle your mind.
You find every page,
 has a story to tell,
All about the characters,
 and places they dwell.
This exciting new tale,
 begins on page one,
You soon will discover,
 that reading is fun.
Open up a book,
read the first page,
The scene will emerge,
 just like a stage.
You discover another world,
 inside this book,
The adventure begins,
 the moment you look.
You come across a story,
 where a tale is told,
You read every word,
 and watch it unfold.
The excitement continues,
 beyond page one,
You experience the thrill,
 that reading is fun.
