I'm surrounded by enemies and I always worry.
I dwell on the past and I'm always in a hurry.
I am a wretched sinner and a lost sheep.
But in my heart, the words of God I keep.
I focus not on the problem, nor what I see.
But the very words, that God promised me.
"Do not fear for I have redeemed you."
"I love you with an everlasting love too."
When my car broke down, and my friend died.
It's hard to give thanks, even though I tried.
My sins are revealed and it's hard to cope.
But in my heart, I know Jesus is my hope.
