LOOK TO JESUS

 

Even though I struggle,

I won't stop living.

Because moments like this,

is when I start praying.

I trust the Lord,

I won't give up.

Because of his promises,

I know there's hope.

So what he said,

he would never forsake.

So I seek the Lord,

the best decision I made.

So during these trials,

it matters how I react.

So with my emotions,

I won't panic.

He has a new plan,

so my life is not over.

So what he allows,

is to draw me closer.

It's through tribulations,

that develop perseverance.

The race set for me,

I run with endurance.

FOCUS ON TODAY

 

I forget about the past,

I leave it all behind.

What's now before me,

a new day has arrived.

It's all about today,

there's no time to waste.

There's so much to do.

and the challenges I face.

I approach this day,

like it's my last.

No matter what I do.

I'll give it my best.

My days are numbered,

just like God planned.

So my only focus,

is now what's ahead.

God is in control,

everything is in place.

One thing left to do,

is to finish the race. 

GOD'S WAY OF LIVING

 

If I read God's Word,

and trust what God said.

My faith will stand firm,

no matter what's ahead.

If I choose to live,

on God's instructions.

God will help me,

in my words and actions.

If I make God's Word,

my way of thinking.

My life will change,

to God's way of living.

If I submit to God's will,

and purpose for me.

And follow his ways,

then surely I'll see.

He'll direct my path,

led by his Spirit.

So the work I do,

is done through him.

God's plan will unfold,

based on God's time.

So any good works,

the Lord's light will shine.

JONAH AND THE BIG FISH

 

All through the Bible,

we know for sure.

That page after page,

there's truth in every scripture.

But with any Bible story,

there's something we can miss.

Like Jonah and the fish,

there's more to this.

The Lord spoke to Jonah,

he was given a mission.

A message to Ninevites,

for their sinful actions.

"Go to the city of Nineveh,

and preach against it." 

Because of their wickedness,

God had seen it.

But Jonah ran away,

with no intent to return.

He sailed for Tarshish,

to flee from the Lord.

But God did something,

that got Jonah's attention.

The big fish had a purpose,

God's plan was accomplished.

ALMIGHTY GOD

 

When it comes to troubles,

and even trials too.

When it suddenly happens,

what do you do?

It can lead to hardship,

that makes life a mess.

You can count on God,

in times like this.

WE HAVE AN ALMIGHTY GOD,

WHO'S THERE FOR YOU.

THERE'S NOTHING TOO HARD,

OR ANYTHING HE CAN'T DO.

EVEN WITH HIS PROMISES,

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BELIEVE.

THE HELP YOU NEED,

YOU'LL CERTAINLY RECEIVE.

When it comes to grieving,

it's hard to go through.

There's so much uncertainty,

what can you do?

The loss of a loved one,

what's left for you?

So what matters now,

you know this truth.

WE HAVE AN ALMIGHTY GOD,

WHO'S THERE FOR YOU.

THERE'S NOTHING TOO HARD,

OR ANYTHING HE CAN'T DO.

EVEN WITH HIS PROMISES,

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BELIEVE.

STORY WORTH SHARING

 

She was a successful lady,

everybody looked up to.

There was nothing,

that she couldn't do.

But she was involved,

in a car crash.

She lost her mobility,

her hopes were dashed.

An independent woman,

now she needed support.

When her family came,

they saw she was hurt.

They were in shock,

what had occurred.

So they gathered together,

and prayed for her.

She was back at home,

but now she was disabled.

The question remained,

if her prayer would be answered.

It didn't take long,

to know what's next.

She became a teacher,

which God had planned.

Despite her limitations,

she was eager to start.

It was a new career,

she would take part. 

With all the skills,

that she still knew.

She taught others how,

so they can do it too.

GOD'S WORD

 

It was many years ago,

on an ordinary day.

I found this book,

that I still read today.

It opened my mind,

like no other book.

What it revealed to me,

I had a new outlook.

It was about God,

and what I was created for.

The more I read his Word,

the more I would discover.

God's Word led me,

in the right direction.

I found my Savior,

who provided me salvation.

There's a better way to live,

the Bible told me how.

I followed God's way,

I'm a better person now.

As long as I live,

I read my Bible daily.

My transformation continues,

just like in the beginning.

                  

                                     

DO IT ALL FOR THE LORD

 

I see the sunshine,

coming from my window.

I know it's time,

to get up and go.

I'm up and ready,

and full of gusto.

The best way to start,

the only way I know.

I head out the door,

with a smile on my face.

What God has planned,

it's already in place.

No matter what's ahead,

this is what I seek.

To be a blessing,

to those in need.

So wherever I go,

the people I meet.

And all the tasks,

I need to complete.

Whether word or deed,

it is my goal.

I do all this,

for my Savior Lord.

BATTLE IS THE LORD'S

 

There were constant battles,

the Israelites were involved in.

Now there was another one,

that was about to begin.

Gideon's army was assembled,

all thirty-two thousand men.

But this was the Lord's battle,

for God to win.

God wanted Gideon's army,

to depend on him.

So the thirty-two thousand,

God had to trim.

Gideon followed God's instructions,

three hundred left for the war.

While the enemy had a total,

over one hundred thousand more.

The power of God was displayed,

with many enemies were slain. 

It was the Lord's victory,

a knowledge they gained.

It was a lesson,

they learned firsthand.

It's impossible for us,

but the Lord can.

GOD IS FOR US

 

For fear will flee,

because God is great.

The same goes for worry,

it will soon fade.

It's like the darkness,

can't overcome the light.

Our troubles have no chance,

with God's power and might.

When there's any problem,

we have to face.

We rely on God,

he has a plan in place.

God can do all things,

nothing can stop him.

So whatever God does,

soon we will see it.

We know our life,

is in God's hands.

He's Lord over everything,

so we'll be able to stand.

If we believe all this,

who can be against us?

When we already know,

God is for us.

WHEN LOVE IS THERE

 

We can do good works,

it is not enough.

Nor give all our money,

if we do not love.

Because without love,

we gain nothing at all.

We're just a resounding gong,

or a clanging cymbal.

When love is there,

there is no doubt.

Love is always kind,

it is not proud.

It's not self-seeking,

it does not envy.

Love always protects,

and it's always friendly.

We find love is patient,

it's not easily angered.

It keeps no record,

of anything done wrong.

Love never gives up,

it will always persevere.

That's when we know,

when love is there.

TEST OF OUR FAITH

 

There's so many bible stories,

I could tell you.

There's one about three men,

what they went through.

In the book of Daniel,

it's about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

The king issued a decree,

a test for the trio.

An image made of gold,

they refused to worship it.

They were found guilty,

death was imminent.

All three were thrown,

into a blazing furnace.

The fire took the lives,

of everyone else.

They were not harmed,

they walked out alive.

The king was amazed,

all three men survived.

We may never experience,

what they went through.

Our faith will be tested,

do we serve God too?

SAY NO TO UNGODLINESS

 

Beware of false teaching,

and the lies they say.

They try to convince us,

it's better their way.

They make it appealing,

with intent to persuade.

Our knowledge of God's Word,

then comes into play.

God gave us the Bible,

so we know for certain.

How we live for God,

and we obey him.

Without this knowledge,

we can be deceived.

But with God's Word,

we know what to believe.

So we read the Bible,

we're able to discern.

What God really said,

so we won't be fooled.

When we gain this knowledge,

then we will know.

When something is wrong,

we just say NO!
