Pete's Dream

Sometimes I dream I am a doctor,
 and other times I am a fireman.
Sometimes I pretend I am a detective 
and other times I fantasize I am a pilot.
At times I visualize I am a astronaut 
and other times I am a teacher.
I imagine at times I am a librarian
 and other times I am a veterinarian.
There are times I envision I am a postal clerk
 and other times I am a artist.
There are times I imagine I am a scientist
 and other times I am a archaeologist.
Sometimes I have visions I am a builder 
and other times I am a engineer.
I picture myself as a zookeeper 
and at times I see myself as a  astronomer.
Grandpa once told me "Don't ever bury your dreams."
So I keep on dreaming. What do you dream about?

A Beginning and End

                                           
We take the time, to reflect on the past,

And remember many moments and wish to make it last.

The times we shared, in our work and in our play.

The many memories we have, of each new day.

The school year is over, it was so much fun,

The joy of success and the work we've done.

Now we look forward, to what the future may be.

All the new adventures and blessings we see.

We reach for our dreams and seek another friend,

And take on the challenges, whatever life may send.

We work on our goals, before we proceed,

And give the best we can do and we'll succeed.

ODE TO MOTHERS

She brings you hope, in place of fear,

She brings you light, to make it clear.

With words of love, with praise and cheers,

She lifts your heart and wipes the tears.

She comforts you, when you're feeling sad,

And encourages you, when life looks bad.

With a caring heart and a friendly smile,

She makes you feel, it's all worthwhile.

In times of trouble, she comes to you,

To calm your worries and help you through.

So whatever the need, you will always find,

Your loving mother, who is helpful and kind.

I Know a Librarian Who Chewed on a Word.

Miss Divine chewed on a word. The children in the library wanted to know which word. The librarian proceeded to chomp down on a book, book cart, chair, table and shelf. Each time Miss Divine chewed on one of the above, the kids would ask each other which word did she chew.The suspense continues until the end when out of her mouth pops the word READ.   

         The Wooden Sword

The shah disguised himself as a servant to learn more about his people. He encounters a jewish shoemaker who displays a faith that Shah decided to test. The shah decreed any profession the jewish man was employed as illegal. The poor man endured some tough hardships but he remained faithful. 

       The Greedy Sparrow

A sparrow caught a thorn in his foot. A baker comes along and removes it. The sparrow tricks her into giving him some bread. The sparrow becomes greedy along the way. He tricks everyone he encounters, so he can get something bigger and better than what he had before. In the end, the sparrow loses everything and gains another thorn in his foot.

               Except the Color Grey

The author/illustrator created photos of different colors. She begins her story with the question, "which is my favorite color?" Then she points out the good or bad for each color. In the end, the author liked the color on her bunny, grey.

                 

               Stuck

       by Oliver Jeffers 

         A young boy gets his kite stuck in a tree. He proceeds to find ways to knock down his kite from the tree. He threw his favorite shoe and it also got stuck. He used his other shoe, a cat, ladder, a bucket of paint, a duck, chair, bicycle, the list goes on and on. Each time he throws up any item, it ends up stuck in the tree. The boy was delighted when his kite became unstuck.  He went home forgetting about all the items still stuck in the tree.
