RELY ON JESUS

The smile may be gone,

laughter a distant memory.

Health may get worse,

you may feel lonely.

Life is not easy,

sometimes it's hard to cope.

It may even look bleak,

but there's always hope.

THESE ARE THE MOMENTS,

WE RELY ON JESUS.

WE CAN BE CERTAIN,

WHAT HE'LL DO FOR US.

WE MAY NOT KNOW,

THE QUESTION WHEN.

ONE DAY WILL COME,

IT WILL SURELY HAPPEN.

The unexpected tragedy,

that leaves us grieving.

The trials we face,

can be overwhelming.

The testing of our faith,

is always on display.

That's why it's important,

for us to pray.

THESE ARE THE MOMENTS,

WE RELY ON JESUS.

WE CAN BE CERTAIN,

WHAT HE'LL DO FOR US.

WE MAY NOT KNOW,

THE QUESTION WHEN.

ONE DAY WILL COME,

IT WILL SURELY HAPPEN.

REVERENCE FOR GOD

I go to church,

and sing songs of praise.

I obey God's commands,

and follow his ways.

And fulfill my purpose,

rest of my days.

I do it all,

out of reverence for God.

I read my bible,

and pray every day.

I make the time,

to help someone today.

I share my testimony,

that I was saved.

I do it all.

out of reverence for God.

He directs my path,

that's where I go.

I share God's word,

to people I know.

I marvel God's creation,

in my morning stroll.

I do it all,

out of reverence for God.

I write poetry,

so people can see.

God will help you,

like he did for me.

And I'm thankful,

for the blessings I received.

I do it all,

out of reverence for God.

MOMENT IN TIME

It happened one night,

when I was feeling down.

I just had surgery,

and there was no one around.

I pulled out a notebook,

and began to write.

My very first poem,

how I felt that night.

The words came out,

it flowed off my pen.

I finished the poem,

and sent it to my friend.

She loved it so much,

she showed it to her daughter.

She even encouraged me,

to write another.

It's forty-five years later,

it's late at night.

Thanks to my friend,

I continue to write.

SAY AMEN

If we read the bible,

and believe it's all true.

Then we will know,

what we need to do.

So if we love God,

 we love everyone else.

We're part of God's family,

that includes all of us.

If we agree on this.

then surely we obey.

Our actions will show it,

and also what we say.

It's all about God's will,

and what he desires.

We are to serve him,

with spiritual fire.

If we pray to God,

and seek his face always.

We put God first,

and follow his ways.

So the word of God,

is important then.

If we agree on this,

then we say amen.

SERVE GOD ONLY

Sometimes we make a decision,

based on a lie.

We hear deceptive words,

like "it's ok to try."

It can blind us,

from the real truth.

We need to be careful,

who we listen too.

It can be appealing,

in what people say.

If it's against God's word,

we need to walk away.

A word of wisdom,

be alert and watchful.

Because what we do,

it can be harmful.

Our minds should be set,

on what God said.

Not what the world teaches,

but God's word instead.

Everything that we do,

is to bring God the glory.

Then the world will know,

we serve God only.

AWESOME GOD

What our awesome God did,

it was simply amazing.

And it all happened,

in the beginning.

It was that moment,

when there was nothing.

Until God had spoken,

when he created everything.

God filled the darkness,

with all the stars.

He made the planets,

and galaxies from afar.

He created the sun,

to light the day.

He made the earth,

with his creation on display.

He commanded the waters,

where it should flow.

He created the fish,

to swim down below.

He made the animals,

both large and small.

He created the landscape,

he did it all.

It was God who created,

a woman and a man.

In his own image,

and according to his plan.

Of all his creation,

we are his masterpiece.

He'll never forsake us,

his love will never cease.

NEW BEGINNING

It's time for a change,

what am I waiting for?

Hatred has to go,

I don't want it anymore.

I can think of others,

I need to get rid of.

Say goodbye to bitterness,

but that's not enough.

I need to change,

the frown on my face.

Also remove the grudges,

that's taking up space.

Goodbye to the past,

I no longer live there.

I welcome the present,

and trials I must bear.

It's easy to say this,

but it was hard to do.

It was my Savior,

I give credit too.

With this new beginning,

and my old self dead.

I choose to love,

just like God said.

CONTINUE TO PRAY

There have been moments,

it was hard to pray.

I couldn't find the words,

I wanted to say.

My own emotions,

got in my way.

I was filled with anxiety,

that ruined my day.

When I face my trials,

I carry on this burden.

When I should focus on God,

not the problems I'm in.

So I call on the Lord,

in my time of affliction.

He provides me strength,

and also his protection.

His words comfort me,

in the promises he made.

Especially when he said,

"he will never forsake."

It's about God's will,

that's done his way.

And in his time,

so I continue to pray.

JESUS IS COMING

You hear it in the news,

you see it on TV.

How bad it is now,

and worse it's going to be.

The pain and suffering,

that's all around us.

There's so much evil,

who can we trust?

People with an addiction,

and those who are hungry.

Families that split apart,

when they can't agree.

But there is a day,

that's coming soon.

We do not lose heart,

or think we're doomed.

There will be peace,

 when Jesus Christ appears.

There's no more death,

and no more tears.

He will restore everything,

the way it should be.

Jesus is coming,

just wait and you'll see.

DAILY WALK WITH GOD

Up comes the sun,

it's my way to know.

It's time to get ready,

for my morning stroll.

A trip to the park,

it's my favorite place.

Where I take my walk,

at my own pace.

It's my daily exercise,

and enjoy the scenery.

In the presence of God,

who walks with me.

I am surrounded by,

this awesome view.

What God had created,

and be part of it too.

I look at the landscape,

showcased by the sun.

The sounds of nature,

I hear it all around.

It brings me joy,

in this moment I'm in.

So this is how,

my day always begins.

A MATTER OF RECONCILATION

We may have ill feelings,

toward a family member.

The tensions can linger,

that we can't get over.

Our emotions play a factor,

that affect our relationship.

We need to be careful,

how we approach this situation.

Any anger we display,

is not what God desires.

We put an effort to restore,

and put out the fire.

So we face our dilemma,

in matter of reconciliation.

 And we exhibit love,

in our communication.

Forgiveness is essential,

that we should obtain.

Since God forgave us,

we do the same.

We approach this moment,

with kindness and humility.

And with God's help,

there's peace and unity.

PRAY TO THE FATHER

Pray to the Father,

believe in his Son.

Ask for his wisdom,

and it will be done.

Pray to the Father,

repent of your sin.

Be sorry for it,

and you'll be forgiven.

Pray to the Father,

with all kinds of requests.

Trust in his process,

because God knows best.

Pray to the Father,

give thanks for his blessings.

For food he's provided,

and all the provisions.

Pray to the Father,

every day and night.

He's there with us,

we're never out of his sight.

Pray to the Father,

seek his face always.

Ask for his strength,

and follow his ways.

WHAT JESUS DID

At the pool of Bethesda,

lay a crippled man.

But when Jesus spoke,

he could walk again.

Mary and Martha grieved,

when their brother died.

But when Jesus came,

he was made alive.

A blind man shouted.

"have mercy on me."

Jesus stopped to help,

and the man could see.

Across many towns,

where Jesus appeared.

It was Jesus words,

that they were healed.

But the greatest thing,

that Jesus ever did.

Was on that cross,

to save us from sin.

So tell the people,

they need to know this.

Because without Jesus,

salvation they'll miss.
