If I promised you, I wouldn't scare you

with my looks, would you call?

If I said, I was bald and skinny

and not really tall.

If I told you, I was poor but

was friendly and kind, would you call?

If I promised you I will help you

anytime at all.

If I said, I was shy and didn't

drink or smoke, would you call?

If I told you I would take you

to a shopping mall.

If I said I was a Christian and I wouldn't

go to a bar, would you call?

If I promised you, I would treat you nice

and not swear at all.

If you said yes to any of the above,

all you have to do is call.

 

BROKEN DREAMS

I've reached rock bottom and not only that.

I have no friends, I'm just a doormat.

I see the evil get the upper hand.

I saw the suffering, I didn't understand.

I dream we help out and love everyone.

My dream is shattered, what can be done?

I reach out to seek another friend.

When no one comes, life seems to end.

I'm hanging on to the end of my rope.

I cry out to Jesus who is my hope.

I call out to my savior in this plea.

I need you, Jesus. Please help me.

 

Ode To CJ

 

There was a single knock,

 on my door.

It was a sweet lady, 

I've been praying for.

We both needed someone, 

only God can do.

God answered our prayers, 

he blessed us too.

You seldom find, 

a friend like mine.

She was always helpful, 

friendly and kind.

A warm embrace 

and food she shared.

It's moments like this, 

she showed she cared.

A forgiving heart, 

a thoughtful deed.

It truly describes, 

my friend indeed.

The words we said, 

we meant it too.

Like bless your heart,

 and I love you.

Great memories were made.

Even when we prayed.

In a moment like this.

I surely do miss.

My dear best friend.

I'll see her again.

 

NOW AND THEN

 

We take the time, to reflect on the past.

We cherish the moments and wish it would last.

Those times we shared, in our work and play.

The many memories we have, of each new day.

From dawn to sunset, it was so much fun.

The joy of success, in the work we've done.

We look forward, to the new challenges we take.

And all the big plans, we want to make.

We reach for our dreams and seek a new friend.

And take on obstacles, whatever life may send.

With a new set of goals, it's time to proceed.

We give our best and know we'll succeed.
