LOVE GOD

 

You can go to church,

and sing with a great voice.

You can read the bible,

and memorize a verse.

You can even pray,

every day and night.

You can make amends,

and do things right.

Tithe at your church,

and even lend a hand.

You can do good works,

and share what you can.

You can draw a crowd,

and say you can be saved.

You can encourage everyone,

take time to pray.

You can tell me,

you do all this.

But there's one thing,

you don't want to miss.

What you do for the Lord,

is an important part.

But you must love God,

with all your heart. 

SHARE GOD'S WORD

 

Tell me about the bible,

including some stories.

Tell me what God said,

including salvation for me.

Tell me something amazing,

especially what God can do.

So what you tell me,

I can share it too.

David took down Goliath,

with a sling and a stone.

Samson slain thousand men,

he used a jawbone.

The disciples were amazed,

when Jesus calmed the sea.

There was the Israelites,

who were all set free.

There was even the time,

Peter walked on water.

And the great miracle,

that happened to Jairus daughter.

The sin of Adam and Eve,

that affected women and men.

Jesus died on the cross,

to save us from sin.

Evil times were on display,

and people were dismayed.

But Jesus told everyone,

do not be afraid.

The good news is,

we know how it ends.

God already won,

and Jesus comes again.

WHAT'S NEXT

 

Anytime we try,

to succeed in anything.

Even with our best effort,

there's nothing that's guaranteed.

How will we react,

if we had failed?

When all of the sudden,

our plans get derailed.

Whether it's an obstacle,

or a dead end.

What really matters,

will we try again?

So what comes next,

it's up to us.

We ask ourselves,

how we handle this?

God knows our future,

he has it all planned.

So we seek him,

because we know firsthand.

He'll direct our path,

for he knows best.

We wait for the Lord,

and see what's next.

DO WHAT GOD SAID

 

I was sitting on my recliner,

I was listening to the radio.

I heard a preacher tell me,

something I needed to know.

Even though I was familiar,

with the scripture he quoted.

It was a reminder,

what God had spoken.

"If it is possible,

as far as it depends on you."

"Live at peace with everyone,"

that's what I need to do.

So without any hesitation,

I headed out the door.

I took a trip,

I should have done before.

And there I was,

I stood face to face.

To someone who hurt me,

I forgave and we embraced.

The moral of this story,

do not be misled.

What the scripture say,

we do what God said.
