It's Time !


It's time for another book review.
All seven picture books are new.
Check which books Buddy found.
Get a pen and jot them down.
So go ahead and take a look.
Today's theme is have you read a book?

THE BLESSING CUP
by Patricia Polacco
A heartfelt story about a special tea set.
It was a gift to Anna's parents as a wedding present.
Anyone who drinks from it receives a blessing.
Anna gave the tea set (less one cup) 
to a doctor who helped them.
The special cup becomes a symbol of lasting
love for the family for more than a century.

TUG OF WAR
by John Burningham
Hare gets fed up when Hippo and Elephant tease him.
Hare challenges each one to a tug of war.
Hippo and Elephant are tricked to think,
the competition is against the Hare.
The two huge animals are amazed at the
strength Hare is pulling on the other end. 
What they don't realize is they are
pulling one end against each other.

THE SNATCHABOOK
by Helen Docherty
Every night the animals snuggle in for a bedtime story.
But one night, books start to disappear.
One brave bunny tries to solve the mystery.
It's a creature called Snatchabook who is guilty.
The bunny discovers the creature had his reason.
He longs for someone to read to him.
They invite Snatchbook to join them in the forest
to listen to wonderful stories read at bedtime.
The beautiful illustrations with great detail
make this book a big hit for kids and parents.

DINO-WRESTLING
by Lisa Wheeler
Dino wrestling is a gigantic event.
Meat eating dinosaurs clash 
with the vegetarian dinosaurs.
They compete in all styles of wrestling.
They battle to pin their opponent.
This latest Dino sport book provides
excellent illustrations written in rhyme.

PETE THE CAT AND HIS MAGIC SUNGLASSES
by Kimberly & James Dean
Pete the cat wakes up feeling grumpy.
His friend the Toad provides Pete sunglasses.
Pete the Cat sees things in a whole new way.
Pete the Cat provides the sunglasses
to all his animal friends.
They see things differently too.
In the end, Pete the Cat learns something important,
you don't need sunglasses to see things are good.
