LET'S GO TO THE LIBRARY!

Buddy and Pete took Wally to the library. Wally crawled inside and his eyes lit up. Inside the library was a huge collection of books. Wally pulled out a book.  "Look," said Wally, "I can tell jokes, like Pete."
Buddy picked out a book on sharks. Pete chose a book on snakes. There are so many different types of books they can choose. "I can't wait to come back," Wally announced. "Can we come back tomorrow?"
Buddy and Pete agreed it was a great idea.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Pencil Pete and Buddy Book are getting ready for school. They line up their clothes on their chairs.
They place their notebook, pen, and folder on the desk. They set their alarm clocks for tomorrow.
"I can't wait," Pete declares, "I miss all my friends."
" Me too," Buddy said, "I want to tell everyone how great my summer vacation was."
Pete and Buddy ran over to Wally Worm's house.
Wally greeted them at the door. They sat down and made a pact.
Pete, Buddy and Wally will study hard and have some fun too.

Today I am going to slay a dragon, tonight
I am going to search for some treasure.
Tomorrow I might hunt down a dinosaur.
Whatever I am reading, I imagine myself
participating in the story. Now I plan to
go to the library. I pull out my check list:
library card, check. My book list, check.
Invite my friend, Pencil Pete, check.
Let's go to the library!

Summer Day with Wally Worm

I can wiggle and crawl or climb a tree.
Play my guitar or watch TV
Do cartwheels or swim in a pool.
Collect seashells, now that is cool.
Build a sandcastle or catch some fish,
Read a book or make a wish.
Fly a kite, or kick a ball,
Draw a picture or make a call.
Ride my skateboard and do some tricks,
Walk my dog and throw some sticks.
What will I do today.
Do everything, it's summertime.
I hope you have fun on this summer day.
